Railroad Museum Opens for Season

The Chatham Railroad Museum opens for the season on Tuesday, June 11th at 10 a.m. with an enhanced Chatham Railroad exhibit featuring models of the South Chatham and West Chatham stations.

The Museum will be open June 11th to August 31st, Tuesdays - Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and September 7th to October 13th, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

ATTENTION CYCLISTS!  Don't miss a special talk by Gil Sparks at the Museum on June 15th at 10 a.m. as part of History Weekend. You'll receive a copy of the 1915 railroad timetable, learn about the railroad's history and locations of the South and West Chatham stations and enjoy a ride along the Old Colony Rail Trail.

312 Years of History to Celebrate

Historic Chatham's History Weekend runs next weekend, June 13th - 16th.

Kick-off the summer season by learning about Chatham's Museums, historic places, and rich history. There will be special lectures, new exhibits, and reduced admissions in may of our museums.

The Godfrey Windmill in Chase Park will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and if wind conditions are favorable the mill will be set in motion to grind corn just as it did centuries ago.

CC Commission Hearing on CQX VMP

A subcommittee of the Cape Cod Commission will hold a virtual public hearing on Tuesday, June 25th at 5 p.m. to consider a Development of Regional Impact (DRI) Major Modification request as filed by Chatham Municipal Airport for its Safety Improvement Project.

The Airport seeks modification to the Commission's 2005 DRI Decision (CCC No. 04012) to incorporate an updated Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) to remove or manage vegetation for compliance with federal and/or state safety regulations.

This Major Modification is subject to review pursuant to Sections 12, 13 and 23 of the Cape Cod Commission Act, as amended, and section 11(b)(iii) of Chapter A, Commission Regulations Governing Reviews of DRIs, as amended. At this hearing the subcommittee will hear testimony, discuss the project, and may vote on the Major Modification.

Food 4 Kids Free Lunches

The Food 4 Kids free lunch program resumes at the Community Center, 702 Main Street, on Monday, June 24th. 

The child does not have to be enrolled in Chatham’s summer recreation program to come and enjoy a free meal and meals are provided to every child/teen age 18 or younger. Daily menus and meal times can be found on the program's website.

Food 4 Kids also gives out 5 – 7 free children’s books daily! If a child receives a golden coupon with their meal, they may choose a new book to take home and keep. These books are not just good reads – they are carefully chosen to be age-appropriate and to speak to diversity and inclusion.
